MATCH PREVIEW

The outlook for Lithuania and Montenegro ahead of this UEFA Nations League (UNL) League C, Group four clash is rather bleak, as they occupy the bottom two positions. There is a glimmer of hope for Montenegro however, who sit just three points off top spot behind leaders Serbia.
Should Lithuania fail to win this game, and Romania take at least a point from their game against Serbia, the hosts will be all but relegated to the bottom tier of the UNL. Lithuania have lost by a single-goal margin in each of their UNL home games to date.
The hosts are now winless in six games at home, a run which stretches back to October 2016 (L5, D1).
Lithuania (FIFA rank: #126) look to have a mountain to climb from the outset here, as they are ranked a staggering 85 places below Montenegro (#41) by FIFA. Additionally, they lost 2-0 in the only previous H2H game, played in September.
Yet Montenegro struggle away from home, and have won just two of their last 12 on foreign soil (W2, D4, L6). They head into this on the back of three consecutive 0-0 draws away from home, interestingly – four of the six away losses in that sequence came against lower-ranked nations than themselves.
Players to watch: With eight goals from 43 caps, Dynamo Moscow frontman Fiodor Cernych is the highest scoring player currently in the Lithuania set-up.
Stevan Jovetić finally made his return from a long term calf injury. He seeks his first Montenegro goal since September 2017.
Stat attack: Lithuania have failed to register a single goal in four of their last six games, in all competitions.
Three of Lithuania’s last five home games have seen just one side score, conversely, the same can be said in four of Montenegro’s last five away matches.
Montenegro have received nine cards across three UNL games to date, on average three per game.
