MATCH PREVIEW

Mid-table sides Celta Vigo and Getafe square off at the Balaídos Stadium to round off matchday seven in La Liga (LL), with both teams looking to secure a third win of the season and close the gap on the top six.
Celta (W2, D3, L1) extended their winless run to three games with a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Valencia last Wednesday. Antonio Mohamed’s side showed a never-say-die spirit and escaped the Mestalla with a valuable point thanks to an 82nd-minute effort from Iago Aspas – his fifth goal of the season – who headed home a pinpoint left-wing cross swung in by David Juncà.
A last-gasp header by Jonathan Calleri denied Getafe victory at Alavés (1-1), which means they now sit one point adrift of Celta (W2, D2, L2). Getafe, who picked up 24 points on their travels last term, have lost just one of their past seven LL away games (W5, D1).
The Balaídos is undoubtedly one of Getafe’s bogey grounds, having failed to win any of their ten matches there to date (D3, L7). Monday’s clash will be the 15th meeting between these sides in the top flight (Celta five wins, four draws, Getafe five wins).
Players to watch: Aspas couldn’t wish for a more reliable sidekick on Celta’s front line than Maxi Gómez, who has already contributed to six LL goals (three goals, three assists) this season – 54.5% of Celta’s total.
Ángel’s first-half brace against Sevilla earned Getafe their only away league victory so far this campaign.
Stat attack: None of the 14 top-flight encounters between the pair have produced more than four goals.
Celta are currently on an eight-game scoring streak at home. They have failed to score in just one of their last 15 games at the Balaídos in all competitions.
Getafe have kept four clean sheets in their last six LL away games. They haven’t concede more than two goals in any of their previous nine trips.
