MATCH PREVIEW

Denmark will play their last friendly match prior to the World Cup (WC) as they host Mexico at Brøndby Stadion. The Mexicans also have a last opportunity to warm up against a solid European team, before participating in their 16th WC finals.
After an impressive unbeaten run of eleven matches (W6, D5), the Danish have won only one of their last five friendly matches (W1, D2, L2), including two straight away losses against Sweden (1-0) and Jordan (3-2) back in January. Since then, Åge Hareide’s men are unbeaten in their last three friendlies against Panama (1-0), Chile (0-0) and Sweden (0-0) last Sunday.
Conversely, the Mexicans have had a great pre-WC friendlies campaign, losing only one of their seven friendly fixtures (W4, D2, L1) and recording a solid 3-3 draw away to Belgium – a potential candidate for the WC title – back in November. Juan Carlos Osorio’s side come into this game after a 1-0 win against Scotland at Estadio Azteca last weekend.
In four previous friendly meetings with Denmark in history, Denmark have a record that currently stands at: W1, D1, L2, and have a negative H2H goal difference of minus three (GF5, GA8).
Players to watch: Denmark’s top scorer in the 2018 WC qualifiers was star-midfielder Christian Eriksen with eleven goals. He will be back after the birth of his first baby.
Mexico’s current top scorer Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez has 49 international goals, a record for the national team.
Stat attack: Denmark have lost only one of their last eight home friendly games (W5, D2, L1) and five of them have produced more than 2.5 goals (total).
The Mexicans are on a run of five straight away friendly games without a single loss (W3, D2), scoring at least two goals in three of them.
In all competitions, the last two clashes between the two sides have ended 1-1.
