MATCH PREVIEW

Shorthanded Málaga will play their last top-flight game for at least a year when they take on Getafe, who saw their hopes of Europa League qualification extinguished last week.
The hosts’ relegation to the second tier was confirmed a month ago after losing 1-0 away to Levante. Since then, Málaga have picked up three points from four games (W1, L3) and remain rock-bottom of La Liga (LL) on 20 points (W5, D5, D27, -36), adrift of Las Palmas. They come into the clash off the back of consecutive defeats by Betis, Alavés and Espanyol.
Eighth-placed Getafe (52 pts, W14, D10, L13, +8), who announced a two-year contract extension for manager Pepe Bordalás on Wednesday, head to the La Rosaleda following a tough 1-0 loss to Atlético Madrid. The result, combined with Sevilla’s 2-2 draw at Betis, put an end to Getafe’s pursuit of European football.
A late strike by Cala, now playing for Chinese club Henan Jianye, earned Getafe a 1-0 win in this season’s reverse fixture. Getafe are currently on a three-match winning streak away from home, but they have won just once in their previous ten top-flight visits to Málaga (D2, L7).
Players to watch: Forward Youssef En-Nesyri (24 appearances, 12 starts) has four LL goals to his name for Málaga this season. En-Nesyri got on the scoresheet in his side’s last home win – a 2-0 triumph over Real Sociedad.
Las Palmas loanee Loïc Rémy (33 shots, seven goals) averages a goal every 171 minutes in LL. A brace from Rémy saw Getafe beat fourth-placed Valencia 2-1 at the Mestalla.
Stat attack: Málaga have drawn more blanks (22, ten at home) than any other side in LL this campaign.
Getafe have been awarded the most LL penalties (11) so far this season, but they have missed a whopping seven. What a waste!
None of the 21 top-flight meetings between these two sides have ended goalless.
