MATCH PREVIEW

Already relegated Benevento will hope to record a win in their remaining fixtures before they return to Serie B next season. Here they welcome a Genoa side to Stadio Ciro Vigorito who have long since had little to play for.
Doomed to a season at the foot of the league after racking up 14 straight losses at the start of the season – a new Serie A (SA) record – Benevento have a least shown some spirit since. The 1-0 victory at AC Milan a few rounds back will be the main takeaway from this season for them. They then followed that up with a point against Udinese in a 3-3 thriller (only the second time they had gone two games unbeaten this season), but lost 2-0 to Spal last time out.
Eleventh-placed Genoa sit 19 points away from Europa League qualification and eight points off of relegation. After losing their last two games against teams battling for European football and earning two red cards in their previous fixture, Stefano Pioli will be looking for a win to try and end the season on a high.
The reverse fixture was the first ever head-to-head clash between the clubs. Genoa dominated possession but only managed to steal all three points with a penalty in the 92nd minute (90+2’).
Players to watch: Cheick Diabate has scored seven goals in nine games since joining Benevento in the January transfer window.
Genoa’s top scorer Gianluca Lapadula has five goals in his last eight games (in all competitions). The former AC Milan striker needs two more goals to equal last year’s SA tally.
Stat attack: Benevento have been good value for the neutrals, as every one of their games this year has featured at least one goal.
Nearly half of Genoa’s SA games have featured over 1.5 goals. Their away fixtures have seen 25 goals in total, an average of 1.3 goals per game.
