MATCH PREVIEW

A late surge in form has seen Torino (tenth) reduce the deficit to top-seven to just five with six games to go. However, their immediate challenge is to take some sheen off the sixth-placed Milan’s campaign.
A month ago, Torino’s season was going nowhere but three wins and ten points in four games hence, they find themselves right in the midst of the European mix. What’s more, they have scored nine goals in the process, conceding just once.
Their home form too improved along the way, as they have won their last two home games – including a facile win over Inter. They had a very impressive home calendar year in 2018, winning five and losing just two – narrowly to Juventus and Fiorentina.
Milan may be sixth in the table, but have seemingly lost some steam in the recent games. No wins in their last four league games (D3, L1) has narrowed their chances of reducing the gap to fifth-placed Inter. In fact, they stand on the brink of a threat from Fiorentina (two points behind) for the sixth place!
Thankfully for them, Milan’s away form is still strong with just one loss in seven trips (W4, D2, L1). That loss to Juve came in their recent away game, although Milan will take comfort from their three clean sheets in four away games.
Players to watch: Adam Ljajic has two goals and an assist in the last four games for Torino, leading their surge.
Milan will be desperate for Suso to get back to scoring ways, whose last league goal came in February ten games ago.
Stat attack: Milan are unbeaten in 20 league encounters against Torino (W11, D9) with their last loss coming way back in 2001.
Only five teams have conceded fewer than Torino’s 15 goals in home matches this season.
