MATCH PREVIEW

Two out-of-form sides meet as Twente welcome Sparta Rotterdam for round 24 of the Eredivisie. Both teams have four losses from their last five league outings and occupy bottom and second bottom, respectively.
Coincidentally, both teams come into this game on the back of fixtures against the top two – PSV and Ajax. Both Twente and Sparta lost 2-1 after giving credible accounts of themselves against the big boys.
A victory for either side here could prove pivotal to the rest of their seasons, as either side could be within touching distance of 15th place with all three points.
News that key players Oussama Assaidi and Fredrik Jensen are back in training for Twente will be well received after both missed out on the Ajax game. Sparta are expecting ex-Feyenoord striker Michiel Kramer to start – especially after rallying his team with the promise of croquette sandwiches!
Fans of both sides are in low spirits and are predicting a stalemate low-score encounter – pundits are also predicting a tight encounter, as both teams will be apprehensive of giving the first goal away. Yet with results going the way of the home team in the past four head-to-head meetings, Twente are being touted as marginal favourites.
Players to watchAdnane Tighadouini (TWE) equalised against Ajax last time out after some classic route one football. Will we be seeing more of that here?
Fred Friday (SPA) has scored once since coming in from loan from AZ, helping Sparta earn their only win since their October win against Willem II.
Stat attack: Sparta Rotterdam have scored more Eredivisie goals in the first ten minutes of a game than any other side in 2018.
Twente have won eight of their last nine games against Sparta at home in all competitions. Sparta have lost ten of their last 11 away Eredivisie games.
Sparta Rotterdam have been drawing at half-time but lost at full-time in six of their last seven league games.
